Lightform Labs is an extension of Lightform Creator that includes beta and experimental features.
We do not recommend using Labs for installations or productions where dependability is required. These features are experimental and unsupported.
How to enable/disable Labs
To enable Labs, click Help > Enable Labs in the menu bar. When Labs is enabled you will see the Labs icon in the top-right corner of Creator.
To disable Labs, click Help > Disable Labs. All the Labs features will be hidden.
Since Labs seamlessly integrates into Creator, there are several places you will notice new options and features appear.
- Projector On/Off [For LF2 only]
Allows you to turn the projector lamp on/off
- Check for Firmware Updates
Lightform device will check for new available firmware
Notice for LF2 and LF2+ users (only):
- A firmware update is required to correct potential fire risk and device damage. Please complete the update procedure to safely update your device to the latest firmware version (2.4.1), and do not otherwise use the device until you perform a firmware update. See more about this issue here.
In the Properties panel of Effect and Generator Assets, three new options: Built-in Presets, Live, and Content Style will appear.
- Built-in Presets
Some assets have Built-in Presets that allow you to change to a modified version of the selected asset. By using Built-in Presets, you can make your content more unique and have more options to choose from.
When the Live button is switched on, you have the ability to control the properties of the selected asset in real-time after the project has been published. Please note that you can only have one Live asset per slide. Read more about Live assets here.
- Content Style
The Content Style section will let you make style adjustments to your selected asset such as changing the Hue/Saturation, Color Fill, and Brightness/Contrast.
Paths in a surface have selectable boolean operations - This makes it easy to combine paths in flexible ways, such as subtracting one path from another. Pro-tip: When merging surfaces, keep track of each path by selecting "Auto-Name Paths" to have the path name reflect the surface name. Read more about these operations here.
- Content Style
The Content Style section will let you make style adjustments to your selected Surface such as changing the Hue/Saturation, Color Fill, and Brightness/Contrast. This will affect all assets in the selected Surface.
