Thanks for choosing Lightform.
Follow the steps below to get started with your LF2!

The LF2 an all-in-one solution with the projector and camera incorporated. The throw ratio is 1.2:1 and the brightness is 1000 lumens. We recommend this solution for small scale installations and indoor spaces like home offices and retail displays.

Step 1 Download Lightform Creator

Download and install Lightform Creator the content creation software that is included and used in conjunction with Lightform products.

All windows users will also need to download the following package copied from here.

Please note:
Lightform Creator is a processor-intensive software similar to a video game, so we recommend making sure your laptop or desktop meets our minimum requirements.
If you have any trouble opening Lightform Creator, please review our articles on Troubleshooting macOS or Troubleshooting Windows.

Step 2 Create an account

When you are prompted to log in to Lightform Creator, click 'Sign Up' to create an account. You will be redirected to a registration page.

If you have any trouble, please make sure you are using a Firefox or Chrome browser (Safari and Internet Explorer are not supported).

Please note:
Once you create a Lightform Account, the same credentials can be used to login to the Lightform Guide. If you previously had a Lightform Guide account, please use your new Lightform Account credentials to login moving forward.

Step 3 Plug everything in

After you unbox your LF2, get it ready to use by plugging everything in. More detailed instructions are included here.

The included remote is used for powering the LF2, focusing, and putting the LF2 into Pairing Mode.

If your remote loses connection to the LF2, follow these instructions to reconnect it.

Step 4 Connect to your device

To connect your device for the first time, turn on your LF2 and click 'Pair Device' in Lightform Creator. Follow the instructions in Lightform Creator to connect to your LF2 by pairing to a supported Wi-Fi network.

We recommend doing this process on a stable, secure network and not on-site at an installation.

To connect through Wi-Fi:

  1. On your computer, connect to the Wi-Fi network with the name of your LF2 e.g. Lightform Ancient Jackal. The password is lightform. lf2_wifi1.png

    Please note:
It can take up to 3 minutes for the Lightform device to show up in your Wi-Fi networks after you turn it on

  2. On Lightform Creator, connect to your regular Wi-Fi network by selecting the network and typing in the correct password.
  3. On your computer, switch back to your regular Wi-Fi network. Make sure you reconnect to the same network that you selected for pairing. Pay attention to Wi-Fi bandwidth e.g. 2g vs 5g. lf2_wifi3.png

You should now be paired!

Please note:
If the the pairing process is not successful you may have to connect via Ethernet, upgrade your device and try again to pair with Wi-Fi. For more details on pairing, other networking options, and to access offline mode when internet is not an option visit this page.

 Step 5 Update your firmware

To begin using your device, you must update the device's firmware to ensure you are using the latest Lightform Creator features.

Continue following the instructions in Lightform Creator to update firmware.

Please note:
If you are using your LF2 for the first time, and Lightform Creator does not prompt you to update your firmware, please check that you are on the most recent version by going to the control page while your device is connected to wi-fi or ethernet. As of July 2020, it should show that the "firmware version" for the LF2 is v.

If the firmware version is empty, or it says "release" please contact our support team

Step 6 Get ready to scan

Congrats! After you've connected your device to the same network as your computer and updated the firmware, your Lightform device is ready to use.

The first step of the creation process will be to set up your scene and perform a scan. Make sure you are familiar with our scan features and how to create the best setup for optimal scan results.

Step 7 Start designing

Once you have your first scan, you can use our smart tools to mask out parts of the scene and apply our built-in library of effects or import your own images and videos to design your experience. Please read more about this workflow here: Adding Content.
