Currently, LF2 does work as a typical projector via an HDMI connection, however, the main functionality of the LF2 is projection mapping.
Please note -- The LF2/2+ Remote is Required to switch the input
As of the 2.1.15 Lightform Creator release, your remote is required to use HDMI as a source. Plugging in the HDMI will not automatically switch the source. You must trigger the input to switch using your remote.
The remote that comes with the LF2/2+ is required to swtich inputs and to manually put your device into pairing mode.
If you lose your remote, a usb universal remote will work as well. We have tested the following remote from amazon:
- Press the power button 1x to pull up the projection menu and a second time to turn the projector off completely.
- Press the back button to display the test card.
- Press the back button 3x to put the device into pairing mode.
We do not sell replacement batteries, however, here is one on amazon and here is another you can purchase online. You can also use your remote without a battery by plugging it in to a charger port via mini-USB.
With the latest firmware release, you can use your remote to open a new projector menu, now with basic keystone correction, projection modes, and more.
Update the projection mode by clicking on "Picture" in the projector menu" or by going to the control page in Lightform Creator to change the projector mode (front, rear, etc.) to invert the image accordingly. See here:
Notice for LF2 and LF2+ users (only):
- A firmware update is required to correct potential fire risk and device damage. Please complete the update procedure to safely update your device to the latest firmware version (2.4.1), and do not otherwise use the device until you perform a firmware update. See more about this issue here.
