Does it support custom effects?

There is the option to add your own custom effects and generators within Lightform Labs. 

Lightform Creator includes a library of real-time customizable effects that are optimized for Projected AR. You can also use your own images, videos, or animations from other software like After Effects or Photoshop. Learn more about how to do this here.
