Set Up the LF2/2+

Thanks for choosing Lightform. Follow the steps below to get started with your LF2/LF2+!

Overview

The LF2/2+ is an all-in-one solution with the projector and camera incorporated. The throw ratio is 1.2:1 and the brightness is 1000 lumens. We recommend this solution for small-scale installations and indoor spaces like home offices and retail displays.

After you unbox your LF2/2+, get it ready to use by plugging everything in.

What is included?

• An LF2/2+ and power cable
• A Remote & Battery
• Stand (if purchased)

Connect your LF2/2+

1. Open up the LF2/2+ box
2. Take out the device, plugs, and remote
3. Insert the remote battery into the remote
4. Plugin your LF2/2+
5. Power on the LF2/2+ using the power button on the back of the unit

Connect Remote

Before setting up your LF2/2+, insert the included battery into the remote. When your LF2/2+ turns on, you will need to use the remote to focus on the message that is displayed. To focus the image, hold down on the (+) and (-) buttons on the remote.

Once you've initially updated your firmware, the focus buttons will be the up and down arrows and the remote will have the following additional functionality. 

Pair Remote

The included remote should already be paired, but if you get a new remote, or are troubleshooting yours, here is how to re-pair it: 

1. Make sure your LF2/2+ is on
2. Place the remote next to or near the LF2/2+
3. Press and hold the + and - buttons on the remote at the same time
4. Once it is paired, you will see visual feedback after a few seconds. 

Charge Remote

To charge your remote, plug a mini-USB cable into the port on the right side of the remote. You can also use the remote without the battery if the remote is plugged in directly. 

Please note: The remote needs a strong charge -- if it isn't working but the light on the remote is still showing up, it may have a low charge. Please continue to charge the remote.

Connect your LF2/2+

1. Open up the LF2/2+ box.
2. Take out the device, plugs, and remote. 
3. Insert the remote battery into the remote. 
4. Plugin your LF2/2+.
5. Power on the LF2/2+ using the power button on the back of the unit. 
6. Once your LF2/2+ turns on, press the (up) and (down) buttons on the remote to focus the image.

After you unbox your LFC, get it ready to use by plugging everything in.

Overview

The LFC works with most projectors and auto-calibrates to the projector during the scan process. For more information, see the full projector compatibility requirements. The most important thing to remember is to make sure both the Lightform device and projector are powered on and connected to each other via HDMI before you can begin any project.

What is included?

Power on Projector

Before mounting the LFC to your projector, make sure that the projector is functioning. When working with Lightform, always check that your projector is on and that the lamp is on — you will not be able to take a scan if the projector is off. You may shut off your projector when mounting the LFC, but it must be turned on to take a scan and to project content.

Before taking a Scan, you will want to mount the LFC's camera securely to your projector so it does not move during or after the Scan. 

Mount your LFC

1. Open up the camera box.
2. Take out the camera and the cable.
3. The camera comes with an attached default mount. You will need to remove this. Firmly hold onto the camera and pop off the mount (do not worry about breaking it, it will come apart). Please see the video below for a visual representation of this.
4. Open your mounting kit which contains a camera mount, base, and two thumbscrews. Attach the base to the camera mount with one of the thumbscrews. Slide the Logitech camera into the camera mount and secure it with the other thumbscrew included.
5. Once the camera is secure in its mount, remove one of the adhesive mounting pucks and place the base into the adhesive puck. Turn the mount so that the line on the adhesive puck matches up with the line on the base of the camera mount.
6. Put the camera mount aside.
7. Open the LFC Computer box.
8. Remove the LFC Computer and power adapter.
   Note: The side of the device with HDMI ports is the "back" of the device and the opposite side is the "front".  
9. Slide the LFC Computer into the mount so that the front of the LFC Computer sits underneath the side with two tabs. The backside with the HDMI ports should be aligned with the side that has one tab. 
10. Once the front of the computer is sitting snug against the front of the mount, use your index finger to pull the third tab back allowing the LFC Computer to snap into place.
     

Planning and Placement

We designed the LFC Mount to work with various sized projectors. Depending on the size of your projector and your preference, there are two ways we recommend mounting your LFC. 

1. You can adhere both the camera and the LFC Computer to your projector:

2. You can mount just the camera onto the projector and have the LFC Computer nearby or mounted elsewhere:

To determine where the LFC Camera should be mounted on the projector, temporarily place the LFC on the projector using the following guidelines: 

• Make sure the camera is placed just behind the projector lens.
• Center the lenses of the camera and the projector vertically for optimal scan results.

LFC Computer Projector Attachment

To install the adhesive mount on the projector, after determining the preferred placement:

1. Remove the adhesive sticker from the adhesive base.
2. Place the LFC Computer in the predetermined position on the projector.
3. Press firmly on the mount — on both the front and rear ends.
4. Hold in place for at least one minute.

LFC Camera Adjustment

You can fine-tune the placement of the LFC camera after the adhesive on the mount is applied to the projector.

Connect your LFC

1. Use the USB-C cable provided to connect the camera to your LFC Computer. 
2. Use the included HDMI cable to plug the LFC Computer into the projector. [Do not connect the HDMI cable to your computer. The included HDMI is meant to connect the LFC and your projector. Your computer should use Wi-Fi, Direct Pairing Mode, or an Ethernet connection to connect to the device.]
3. Check that the projector is on the correct HDMI input.

The LFC will now control the projector for scanning and content playback.

Setup the LF1

Power on Projector

Before mounting the LF1 to your projector, make sure that the projector is functioning. Power on your projector and check that the lamp is on. When working with Lightform, always check that your projector is on — you will not be able to take a scan if the projector is off. You may shut off your projector when mounting the LF1, but it must be turned on to take a scan and to project content.

Mount your LF1

Before taking a Scan, you will want to mount the LF1 securely to your projector so it does not move during or after the Scan. We recommend doing this with the adhesive mount provided, or alternatively with a universal mounting system (additional hardware required).

When you first unbox the LF1, do not immediately apply the adhesive mount to your projector. The adhesive mount is intended for a single application — please proceed with caution.

The LF1 comes fully assembled to a hinge mount with an adhesive base (the two combined being the Adhesive Mount), ready for placement and mounting on the projector. There is an extra adhesive base, an alternative universal mounting bracket, and additional mounting tools found in the box labeled Mounting.

Lightform mounting brackets are compatible with most common action cameras (i.e. GoPro) mounting accessories. Always take proper safety precautions when mounting anything in a hanging or overhead location.

LF1 Placement

To determine where the LF1 should be mounted on the projector:

1. Temporarily place the LF1 on the projector
2. Center the lenses of the Lightform device and the projector vertically
3. Place the Lightform just behind the projector lens

LF1 Projector Attachment

To install the adhesive mount on the projector, after determining the preferred placement:

1. Remove the adhesive sticker from the adhesive base
2. Place the LF1 in the predetermined position on the projector
3. Press firmly on the hinge mount — on both the front and rear ends
4. Hold in place for at least one minute

LF1 Adjustment

You can fine-tune the placement of the LF1 after the adhesive on the mount is applied to the projector.

To rotate the LF1 left and right, or to remove the LF1 from the projector:

1. Press down on the bracket insert
2. Twist left or right

To move the LF1 up and down:

1. Loosen/tighten the thumb screw
2. Tilt the LF1 up or down

(Optional) Roll Adjustment

If you are using a curved projector and want to level your LF1, use the roll adjustment of the rear right screw. Roll adjustment helps align the camera image in rare or more advanced cases.

Power on LF1

Connect the LF1 power adapter to a power outlet and the LF1. Check that the LF1 LED has turned on. Read more about LED messages.

Connect your LF1

Connect the LF1 HDMI cable from the LF1 to the projector. Check that projector is on the correct HDMI input. The LF1 will now control the projector for scanning and content playback.
